SANITATION

In the villages, showers and toilets did not exist. For washing their body, men would swim in the river and women had a circular structure covered with leaves where they would bring buckets of water from the river and wash themselves in private.

Due to the lack of sanitary conditions, children developed many illnesses in their hair follicles and on their skin. Women also suffered with many health issues as a result of this.

Showers and basic sanitary needs are important for the overall health of the Baluchi families. We began building toilets and showers for the villages where 1 toilet and 1 shower would be shared among 5 families, placed in a location outside of their home, for them to all have access as needed.

One shower and toilet cost approximately $550.
