HAND-CRAFTS

Balochistan Hand-Crafts are beautiful weavings using the leaves of a small, wild tree that has strong leaves for creating baskets of all sizes. The leaves are dried first before they are woven.

 The hand-crafts are mostly done by elderly women and sometimes even men. Sometimes the younger girls create them as well, but less often.

Smaller weavings can take 5 hours. However, a large basket can take 1-2 days. Some of the baskets can even take up to 4 days. The larger it is, the more time is needed to complete a weaving.
